Leg Cramps, Heavy Periods &  Hemorrhoids

Q: I often suffer from leg cramps when I’m sleeping.  What could be causing these?

A: Leg cramps are a very common complaint.  Usually, they are caused by a mineral imbalance.  Most people think they are low in potassium, but low levels of calcium and magnesium can also cause the cramping.  Excess phosphorous in your diet could cause a calcium deficiency, so do not drink any type of soda.  Hydrochloric acid deficiency can cause poor calcium absorption, so you may need an enzyme.  Make sure you get 500-2,000 mg. of magnesium daily, 1,000-1,500 mg. of calcium and 600-800 IU’s of vitamin E to improve vascular circulation.

Q: I have extremely heavy periods.  Is there anything I can do to help?

A: I have found that taking Red Raspberry Leaf capsules 3-4 days prior to your period and for the first 2 days after will slow the bleeding down considerably.

Q: Do you know of any good remedies for hemorrhoids?

A: First, you want to make sure that you are taking plenty of Vitamin C (at least 3,000 mg. daily).  This tonifies the bowel wall tissue.  Then, take 1-2 capsules of white oak bark daily (internally).  Also, break open one capsule of white oak bark, mix with aloe gel and make a poultice.  Apply this mixture to your hemorrhoids at bedtime.  The tannins in the white oak bark will shrink the tissues and constrict and strengthen the blood vessels.  You generally get relief from this remedy very quickly.
